This is our interpretation of the legacy mid-mounted Hayabusa setup. We have long since ditched the archaic chain driven setup and utilise the Quaife QBA11R with its integrated LSD and actuator operated forward/reverse lever courtesy of a dashboard mounted button. Leaving the gearbox in 1st gear, you can manoeuvre the car without having to endure the golf kart electric motor setup, simply alternating between forward and reverse.

Further departures from the legacy setup include an aftermarket ECU and throttle body setup with a steering wheel mounting variable throttle map and traction control. Cruise control is also fitted. You can really can drive this for hours without testing your sanity. A sealed figure hugging bulkhead ensures heat soak is a thing of the past too.

Nevertheless, this is still the most visceral of our creations, ably supported by a trickshifter too, but we have shaved countless decibels such that ear defenders are not a must.

The shell was comprehensively restored before being sprayed in Volvo’s Rebel Blue. The spec inside continues the theme of trying to add some decorum, with Cobra’s Nogaro seats and our custom carpet set.
